What does day-to-day life look like at Dragonwell?

Each morning begins with breakfast and, for those who enjoy it, time in the garden or terrace. Afternoons typically include group conversation or individual quiet time. Evenings are relaxed with dinner and optional activity. Staff are present throughout — there to help if needed but respectful of each person's independence and preferences.

Is Dragonwell suitable for someone without ongoing medical needs?

Yes. Dragonwell is a residential home, not a medical facility. We are well suited to older adults who are largely independent but value company, regular meals, and a safe, comfortable place to live. For residents who need medical attention, families coordinate with their own doctors or healthcare providers.

Can family members visit whenever they like?

Family visits are warmly welcomed. We ask that visits happen during daytime hours — between 9 AM and 8 PM — to respect the rhythm of the home. Families are also welcome to join residents for meals by arrangement in advance.

How does the Weekend Respite Arrangement work?

Guests arrive Friday afternoon and depart Sunday morning. We prepare the room in advance and welcome personal items from home. All meals are included, along with weekend activities such as garden walks and afternoon film screenings. Advance booking is required, and availability varies by weekend.

What languages are spoken by staff?

Our team is comfortable in Cantonese and English. Most residents at Dragonwell are Cantonese-speaking, and our daily activities reflect this. English-speaking families and residents are equally at home here.

What is included in the monthly fee for Terrace Residence?

The monthly fee covers accommodation in a private furnished room, three meals daily, housekeeping, laundry and linen services, morning garden access, afternoon group conversations, and weekly cultural appreciation sessions. Care companions are present day and night. Personal items, special dietary requests, or optional external outings are discussed individually.
